What happens if you operate a electrical device rated for 220v/50hz at 220v/60hz?

Would it not operate right or be damaged? Its a Sony Playstation 2...

  1. I guess its an european version or something like that, it should operate right, worst case scenario you will get some interference at the screen when playing but it won't get damage.


  2. nothing will happen it will work alright but from where you are going to get 220 V 60 Hz.

    You can go up to 45 Hz but not below this as inductive impedance of the transformer goes down since you are going upside that is 60 hz so not much of a problem Power supply transformer will be working without too much of problem it may become little hotter more than at 50 hz.
