I ordered a playstation 3 and a couple games that came out to be 100 dollars more than I had on my credit card.

  1. It may get declined, or it may go through and you'll be over your limit and you'll be hit with fees !

  2. Its strange that your credit card wasn't denied when you purchased it in the first place. Most likely you have some sort of "overdraft protection" on your credit card that allows you to go over your credit limit. In this case, i'm sure you'll get hit with some type of charge from your bank.

  3. The sale either gets rejected or you incur a overdraft/over limit fee.

  4. You will have to pay an overdraft fee.

  5. wow, that's a lot to go over.  if the payment went through, your card will be over it's limit.  that means if you try to use it again, it will not work until you are back under your limit.

you'll have to pay an over limit penalty fee.  that means when you get your next statement, you will see your 100 dollars over your limit.  if you don't see an over limit fee on that statement, you'd better pay more than the minimum required to get you back to your limit.  otherwise the fee will go on your statement the following month, and you'll go over your limit a second time and get yet another over limit fee.  be careful.  if you don't know how much the penalty will be you should call them and find out.  usually it's like 30 dollars.
