What happens if you overwater a cactus?

Yeah, I'm not sure what I'm doing. It'd be nice if someone could tell me what it looks like and what it does, and if anyone can send me a good picture along with as much information you can give me as possible on the subject, I'll make that the best answer.

  1. It gets root rot and dies.

    Most cactuses are set up to gather water when it is there and swell up.

    So to water them you give them plenty of water for a day. When they are full you let them dry out for at least a month until they start to shrink again.

    If it is a new transplant it might want water 2 times a month.
