What happens if you play an hd channel on a non hd tv?

  1. you can play HD stations on a non HD TV, even though most of the TV's sold in the last number of years are all HD.  What will happen is you just won't get that clear a picture.  I had that with my Tivo, I put the TV on an HD station, but the Tivo isn't HD, it recorded, but was a bit fuzzy.

  2. I had an HD Receiver hooked up to a Standard Def TV for a while while I was in the process of remodeling. They look a little "low def". But it did not hurt the TV because you are connecting a normal signal to it. You shouldn't even be able to connect a Hi Def signal to the non-hd tv.

    What opportunity did you have to show an HD station on a Non-HD TV? Usually someone would not pay the extra $ for HD if they did not have an HD TV (unless you are just using an HD Over the Air antenna)...
