No, what I'm asking is: "What if it's been a while since I've had some 'relief' and now I get one just out of nowhere but I happen to be wearing a cup?" Could there be any damage from not having enough room?

If it does happen, there will be no "damage", but you may need to discreetly 'adjust' yourself down there to keep things in place.
