  1. It's probably pointless...there's a reason it's called the morning "after" pill!

  2. It will most likely fall into the "ineffective" category.  The medication is best used within 72 hours of unprotected s*x; after that point, the efficacy rate drops precipitously.

It isn't harmful, per se.  But it can -- and often does -- mess with your cycle, because you're bombarding your body with massive doses of artificial hormones (similar the birth control pills, but in MUCH higher doses).

  3. (‘morning-after’ pill) technically called Emergency contraceptive pill (ECP)is not harmful. It can be taken if you have had unprotected s*x one or more times within the last 72 hours (three days). It is more effective the sooner the pills are taken.

You can take the ECP as many times as you need, but repeated use of the ECP may cause your menstrual cycle to change. You may have a shorter/longer cycle and have a heavier/lighter period than normal.

So.Emergency contraceptive pills are for emergency use only and not appropriate for regular use as an ongoing contraceptive method because of the higher possibility of failure compared to modern contraceptives.

In addition, frequent use of emergency contraception would results in more side-effects, such as menstrual irregularities. However, their repeated use poses no known health risks

Overall, its effectiveness is ~75-90 %. It is believed that the pill prevents pregnancy by slowing down the rate at which the egg travels through the fallopian tube and altering the uterine lining so that the egg, if fertilized, cannot implant and begin to develop.

Your next period may come early or late. If it doesn't arrive within a couple of days of the expected time, see a doctor.

The morning-after pill does not protect you from pregnancy for the rest of your menstrual cycle. So either abstain from s*x or use a barrier method like a condom.

The morning-after pill is not good at protecting against ectopic pregnancies(,In an ectopic pregnancy, a fertilized egg has implanted outside the uterus), although these are rare. If you get lower tummy pain or abnormal bleeding in the weeks after using it, see your doctor.

Is it dangerous to use? Not at all. If anybody tells you that it has 'lots of side-effects' or 'makes you really sick', don't believe them

Talk to a doctor or nurse if:. your period lasts longer than a week or  if you dont get it more than 30 days.

  4. Wait a month or two, then break out the coat hangar

  5. its doesnt work

it must be taken within the 1st 72hours after unprotected s*x

  6. I would think that the risks you took having unprotected s*x for all that time would be more of concern to you.

Get tested and use a condom.

  7. No it is not harmful. The morning after pill will work when started up to 5 days after unprotected s*x.

  8. Taken this long after it is not harmful to you or the baby which means it probably won't work but I suppose there is a chance it is supposed to be within the first 72 hours I think (I did a report on it just can't remember) but even then the longer you wait the less effective it is.

  9. It's not harmful, but it is reduced dramatically from working, correctly.

  10. this is how it works... the next day it makes the utrus a hostile enviroment. four days later it might do the same.. but it takes 3 days to fully get pregnant

  11. The probability that it would impede the implantation of a fertilized eggs will lessen significantly.  It has to be taken 24-48 hours after unprotected s*x.  In terms of it being harmful, it can make you sick.  A feeling of nausea and flu like symptoms but that's about it.
