What happens if you try to put a light scribe label on a normal disk?

if i put a regular cd in my lightscribe capable cd writer and try to use the lightscribe labeler on it, what will happen? will it make any imprint at all? will it damage my cd writer? thnx!

  1. it probaly will not work cause you need the lightscribe disc drive and the special cd.


  2. You have no printable media on the top of the disc to burn onto. It wont work. It's not gonna damage the drive because it would be foolish to design a drive that would have to be replaced under warranty if a person accidently put a non light-scribe disc in and damaged the drive trying to burn a label onto it.

  3. 1.  I don't think it will damage the disk or the drive (more than likely when it goes to put on the label it will not detect that a CD is in the drive)

    2.  It will not write the label on the disk.

  4. Its impossible when it says insert lightscribe CD it scans to make sure it really is a lightscribe CD if not it will eject and say insert a lightscribe disk
