What happens if you use the fasa check you get for financail aid, and then dont end up going to school?

cause i really want to go to school, just right now i am working full time and i dont know if i will be able to afford rent, food, and all my bills if i stop work to go to school, yet this is the only way that i can plan to have a better future.

  1. If you spend the aid and don't attend classes (an Incomplete turns into an F if you don't drop the class), you'll have to pay the money back.  You'll be disqualified for further financial aid until your grades are back up.

    (all my FA checks were issued to me, I don't remember if I picked them up at Administration or they were mailed to my home)


  2. the money is sent to the school, not you.  So if you don't end up going, you will never get the money.

  3. You have to pay it all back immediately.  You don't usually get the check until you start classes.  In some cases they pay the tuition and you have to regularily attend classes for up to 6 weeks before you see any additional money.

  4. You don't get a check. The money you are awarded through FAFSA gets sent directly to the school. If you don't go to school you don't see the money so people CAN'T use it for something other than school.
