Question:

What happens if you violate your parole?

My son has not paid his parole officer for the possession charge he had. I think he is going back to court this week, and I'm just wondering what is going to happen to him. He's 22 years old. And, I'm not sure what his sentence was originally. He also is on parole in a different county for DUI. What happens if they put him in jail this week and he can't go to his parole in the other county?

Also, he may have a warrant out for his arrest (for concealing collateral). If he's in court this week for parole violation, will they be able to see if he does have a warrant out for his arrest at that time?

  1. First, if he violated his probation he will pull the time the judge set for the charge he was placed on probation for. Second, If he's in jail and cannot go see the other probation officer, you mat want to call him/her and advise that your son is in jail at the time. As far as the warrant deal, if he has a warrant on him he will know because they will arrest him and take him before the magistrate.

  2. 1) If he doesn't have the money he owes he will go back to jail

    2) He will not get in trouble for not checking in with his parole officer in the other county, they should let them know he is jail.

    3) Most the time they do not check for warrants, unless they do send him back to jail. Then they will run his record and he will get arrested for that also.

Good Luck, hopefully this will scare him straight :)

  3. Usually you will go back to prison for violating your parole. Which is where he should be. Can't do the time..don't do the crime.
