What happens if your american and you go to el salvador, marry your boyfriend, a salvadorian do u get to stay

i just want to know if im american and i go to el salvador and marry my boyfriend who is from el salvador, will i be able to stay and live down there without a visa??????????? and what happens if i have a baby in el salvador and im american, will it have dual citizenship to el salvador and america???

  1. you will not be able to stay without a visa, you need to apply for citizenship... take it as if yuo were takingyour husband back 2 the u.s. then also the baby is from el salvador, he is a salvadorian citizen if he is born in el salvador, he wont have citizenship to the u.s. I say that by allmeans whatever you do, if you have a kid have it in the u.s. because then it has more benefits that will lead him/her to have a better life...

You will NOT be able to stay without a visa, though it may be easier for you t get a residence visa, and eventualy citizenship if you wish.  You should really go to the nearest embassy of el Salvador and ask all your questions to be absoluely sure you have correct info before making a big step like that.  You should also read the U.s. State dep't cosuular sheet on el Salvador at the 2nd website below.   Then you would be wise to learn as much as possible about El Salvador .  If you are considering marrying a person from El Salvador who is currently in the U.S. illegally, you need to be aware of what your life would be like there and what the laws are regarding child custody.
