What happens if your clothes dryer hose is getting old?

I got a new dryer installed and the delivery guy said that the hose is getting old and is falling apart. He said if I notice problems to replace it. What kind of problems is he talking about...my clothes not drying properly?

Hi CG,

If your vent is leaking you could have dust and lint in your house.  If it is full, theoretically the dryer could overheat and catch fire.  That is the extreme of it, but it has happened.

I think home depot has them . If the hose is broken then it won't move the lint out and it could build inside and cause a fire .

Heat, lint or moisture coming out.If it is plastic change it or get it changed the hose is not very expensive.
