What happens if your credit card gets charged but there is no money on it left?

eBay sent me a monthly invoice saying that they will automatically charge my credit card within 5-7 days. The amount is only $1.75 and I did not even sell the item, which is a total ripoff. Anyway - I have no money on my credit card. What will happen?

  1. You will get an overdraft fee. Or, the card will be declined.  It just depends. You might call the credit card company.

  2. do you mean your credit card is maxed out, with no more available funds?  the charge of $1.75 will probably be denied.

  3. Your posting is confusing. A credit card doesn't have "money left on it". It's a line of credit with a limit. Do you mean to say you have exhausted your limit? Did you mean to say Debit Card? These are two distinctly differing bank products.
