What happens if your green card application is denied..?

My husband had to submit extra information to INS, one of the things he needed was a co-sponsor..but he never found one and therefore it was not included with other papers..so what happens next..anyone know? Thanks...

  1. You get denied and then you do not receive a green card. Asking for a cosponsor is no light matter. The person becomes financially responsible for 10 years or more. That means paying his medical bills, and reimbursing the government for any social services he may apply for.

    Unless you have a wealthy relative, you may be out of luck


  2. If you didn't send them the evidence they asked for then they will turn him down. When you get a request for evidence you MUST send them EXACTLY what they ask for. You two need to talk to a lawyer FAST. As you don't make much I suggest you call your local Catholic Social Services. They have good immigration lawyers and they charge according to income. You don't have to be Catholic to use them.
