I was thinking of the recently convicted 'canoe' couple, imprisoned for fraud, what happens to their houses?

Do their sons inherit them?

Or are they 'mothballed' until they're released,in which case do they still pay council tax ?

  1. Theur property will most probably be sold of to pay something to their creditors. When a person is in prison they are excused paying Council Tax because they are no longer employed.

  2. unless they are declared bankrupt then thier house wont be sold, it will still be there when they get out, if they are in prison then they dont have to pay council tax
