  1. They will become more healthy than they were by doing nothing but not quite as healthy as they would if they did the cardio as well.

Cardio burns more fat, weight lifting of course builds more muscle and burns some fat, but not nearly as much as cardio.

For a big guy, diet and weight lifting would make him a muscular big guy.

  2. Well - he's right from a cosmetic standpoint.  You can burn a LOT more fat from weightlifting than cardiovascular activity.  If you diet correctly and lift heavy, you can build your physique simply from that.

Muscle actively burns fat.  Just by existing, it uses calories.  Weightlifting also helps, in that it takes energy (read: calories) to rebuild muscle after you tear it and break it down after lifting.

That said - cardio has its benefits, and shouldn't be overlooked, but doing it for weight loss is unnecessary.  If you're "in good shape" and can run a reasonable distance, then there's no need to "Worry".

  3. cardio burns weight everywhere, even your face. u cant get muscle tne and look fit without doing overall weightloss. u dont see people doing face exercises, its cuz cardio burns fat everywhere   cardio rocks!

  4. I'm the same way. I don't really do alot of cardio but I do weight lifting. I don't want to lose any size just turn the fat into muscle. Alot of guys fear that they will lose size if they do alot of cardio.

  5. They might still lose fat as they burn calories by lifting weights, but they also build muscle which weighs more than fat, so they will not lose weight as quickly.  It all depends on how much they exert themselves though.

  6. They would lose weight.
