  1. The air is like waves on an ocean, and sometimes it pushes up harder on the wings. Sometimes it pushes up less hard than normal, and that feels like you are falling. Its perfectly safe, but uncomforatable.

  2. Just the wind pushing it up and down. Bigger the plane, less the turbulence. It's rather safe, but strong winds can be dangerous.. just like strong waves when your out on a boat.

Bigger the plane, safer the journey.

Like would you really go across the atlantic in a sailing boat?

  3. areas of different pressure cause a plane to rise and fall

  4. somthing to do with rising air pockets. But its pretty scary stuff!!

worst turbulance i have been in is coming back from florida.

the plane ran out of sick bags and in economy there was sick in the iasle.  ehw.

    lol :)

    airtours were pretty ace.

  5. In order for the airfoil (wing) to produce lift, it required uninterrupted airflow across the wing.

Turbulance is simply the disruption of the airflow causing a momentary loss of lift.
