  1. you cannot accurately predict future results from past performance (sounds like a familiar phrase, some lawyer probably wrote it).

    seriously, the fundamental truth of the stock market is emotion.  Emotion cannot be predicted until the very moment it is taking place, based on all available information.


  2. That depends entirely on what the reason for increased volume is. It could be good as well as bad. Was the volume from buying or selling? Did the stock finish up or down? Once you know these things you can make an intelligent estimate of what will happen the following day, and promptly have you logic squashed by other factors.

    Increase volume by itself is not an indicator of what is to come.
