What happens to a virus if you shut down your computer?

Like a trojan horse or something...if i shut down my computer then will the virus still be there on the computer???

first of all ur computer should be protected with Norton anti-virus or other good software.if ur software detects a virus, it will ask u whether u want to remove it .if this does not work just off your computer manually and start it again and as it is starting keep pressing F8 and then choose safe mode and then the virus will be removed automatically.

Shuting down ur machine will not be any help....because they store and associate themselves with Operating system and other applications... so when you will boot ur machines they will start again automatically and ur machine will malfunction... the best to get rid of them is to install some good antivirus or anti spyware .. on ur machines and scan it throughly and keep updating its virus definitions from time to time. This will keep ur machine healthy and virus, trojan or spyware free.

Download Spybot , download Windows Defender, restart computer, then run Spybot. See what the scan comes up with.

Windows Defender and Spybot are  2 really good Spyware Programs.

Now for Virus Protection  2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection.

Running Spybot and Defender, with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition.

Yep it will... what you do to make it so the creator can't feed off of it is just disconnect from the internet and then run some antivirus.

IT DOESN'T MATTER! IF YOU SWITCH OFF YOUR PC AND TURN IT ON BACK THE TROJAN HORSE WILL STILL EXIST BECAUSE THIS  THREAT WILL BE  ACTIVE AND IS RUNNING WHEN WINDOWS START UP! DO YOU KNOW WHAT TYPE OF TROJAN IS IT? EG.AVG.EXE. GO TO THE TASK MANAGER AND LOOK FOR THE NAME OF THE THREAT IF YOU KNOW THE NAME THEN END THE PROCESS! THEN TRY A TROJAN ONLINE SCAN. If you already have a virus and have not removed it with a anti virus program it will remain on your computer until you fix it. Shuting down your computer will not remove a virus it will only make it harder to remove because everytime you turn off you computer it saves your settings locking the virus deeper into your system.
