I'm referring to garbage not sewage waste. in the US we have so much land that we are able to designate areas for waste disposal, i think this is horrible there must be another way, in the UK you don't have the land to spare so you must have another way of handling refuse, what do you guys do with your garbage!!

  1. we all suffer. the whole of mother nature.  There is no way out of it. Breath it in

  2. why you think we got the channel tunnel we send it to France they send the asylum seekers. Na we buried most of it land fill sites

  3. From what I know, it gets turned into a bio degradable compost.

  4. There are no citizens in the UK, we're subjects of the crown.

Also we don't have any "garbage"; we only have rubbish/waste

  5. It gets flown to China to be put into their landfill.

Most local authorities provide doorstep collections for paper, cans and glass, as well as composting bins for food scraps.  In my area there will soon be collections for cardboard and plastic too.

  6. Britain is experimenting with constructing a causeway of garbage to link itself with continental Europe.

It has run into some problems in that the base seems to be spreading out on the bottom, but we have learned to use rock along the sides to keep it more confined.

We are using gullible people to spread the word.

  7. we mostly use ladfill sites although within 10 years they will all be full with no alternatives. These can be covered and built on over the top once its safe.

Some places are starting to incinerate waste so basically burning it in a very controlled way hopefully harnessing the energy produced.

Obviously there is a major drive for recycling at the moment with a lot of places really getting good recycling rates most most places could really be better.

There is lots of research into alternative waste disposal methods which should be introduced soon altho still in planning stages and not well known to the regular public.

I personally think a lot of people have to look at their waste differently and as their own responsibility to reduce it. If it doesnt affect us in our lifetime, think of what kind of world our children will be expected to live in!!!

  8. Send it to the good old US of A?

    Only kidding.

We dump it in the sea.

    Why do you ask?
