What happens to all the knives/guns when there is a knife/gun amnesty? R they all destroyed?

Are they DNA'd for any involvement in previous crimes. Or r they recycled? burnt? what?

  2. As far as i am aware, they are tested for DNA and all that jazz, and destroyed.

  3. they check it to see if it tied to a crime if it is they keep it for so long incase the trial goes back to court in 20 or so years if it not they are broken down and melted

  4. They are melted down and recycled.

  5. They are checked for any involvement in crimes and then destroyed by an industrial crusher and/or melted down.  Unusual or valuable pieces may be retained.
