What happens to an earthworm when it dies?

I tried sweeping a lighted matchstick pass an earthworm and it died. But before it dies, it coils up. Why did it coil up?

  5. Earthworms are the invertebrates with closed circulatory systems.  The coiling is likely a response to the change of protein conformation of proteins and the loss of the fluidity of blood in muscle tissue

  6. Either because it was trying to protect itself or because it's muscles all tensed up due to nerves.

    Now please go and get some therapy before you become a fully fledged killer.

  7. it coils up cuz obviously it's getting burned and it's cells are getting all messed up....BUT ANYWAYS why would you kill a worm for no reason!!!!!
