  1. blood left in vials usually gets sent off with my assistant to get spun down...hehe.

not all vials have anticoagulants; depending on the application you can have a coagulant or no coagulant in the tube: people let blood clot in these tubes so that when spun down the fraction on top is serum.

a clot will start forming in as little as 30seconds after a collection. i typically wait an hour for clot formation then have the blood spun down.

  2. Blood left in a vial???

To begin with, there is anti-coagulants in the vile to keep the blood from clotting, otherwise there would be one big blood clot.  Secondly, the blood does not do any more dividing or things like that because it is no longer at body temp.

  3. it clots and goes all crunchy and hard.... stop cutting ureself its not cool

*it takes only 1 - 2 minutes for a wound to clot and stop bleeding but if there is a vial of it i dont know - leave it over night i guess. I find this question very disturbing. You avatars hair is making it worse. I'm here if u need to talk x
