Do they permanently embed themselves in our fatty tissue, lungs, brain, and other organs...? Or is our daily exposure that's had from traveling along expressways and such insignificant in relativity to the body's ability to defend and repair itself?

  1. They are picked up by macrophages in the lungs called dust cells.  From there, the dust cells will be discarded via the spleen and excreted in the f***s.

Also, your ciliary mucous elevator in the lungs and throat will propel the microparticles towards your mouth and nose, and they will either be swallowed or spit out.
