What happens to my shares if Company is delisted from Nasdaq?

im currently with sharebuilder, will i recieve a paper certificate or something if they delist and sharebuilder stops trading it?

im new to investing so i really dont know.

  1. If a stock is delisted from NASDAQ, they usually just trade over the counter (OTC) as thousands of other stocks do.

    No you won't receive a certificate, the stock is has some value, there's just not a regulated market for it, but there a market for it could continue OTC.

    Dealing with Sharebuilders is a whole other problem, you should give careful consideration of dealing with a regular broker/dealer.


  2. Sharebuilder should send you the certificates of stock they are holding and will no longer sell.  Usually stocks sold over the counter can still be bought and sold through brokers like Sharebuilder as long as you know the ticker symbol.
