What happens to old T-shrits?

i have to do this project and for it i have to know what would happen to t-shrits if they were thouwn in a landfill. also how would this hurt the emviorment.

Natural fibers, like wool or cotton should decompose.  But wool decomposition releases methane.  Synthetic fibers probably don't decompose, so they will still be in the landfill hundreds of years from now.  The same is probably true of any logos that are put on the shirt.

if it were Cotton it would not hurt the enviorment it would simple decay back to dirt
