the signing deadline was last night and i was wondering what happens to players like Aaron Crow and Joshua Fields who did not sign last night. Are they up for free agents, or do the teams that drafted them still have rights???

  1. They go to the draft the next year

  2. The players return to college unless they were seniors, the former seniors go into free agency.

  3. Well, they lose the rights to them, and they return to college, and probably declare themselves eligible again next year.

  4. The team no longer has rights to the player. Most cases are high school players declaring for the draft, disappointed by the round they were picked in, and move on to play college ball. College seniors that aren't signed can go on to play in independant leagues, where they can get "noticed" by amateur scouts and get a contract. Some go to Japan to play in an "alternate" major league.

Trust me. You haven't heard the least of those guys.

  5. They become free agents once the deadline passes, so the teams that drafted them is basically saying "i changed my mind i don't want that person" and anyone can pick them up.
