If only our leaders would priotorize the most essential needs of America, then there would be decline in high cost of living and the burden on tax payers would ease. Have we ever stop to think how much money is used fighting the war? Human resources have been ignored. For how long can this continue? How much of us think the war is worth fighting?

Illegal immigrants pay Billions in taxes and make Billions in purchases.......and that's not including the legal immigrants. They use government services, but what they pay into the system is a whole lot more then they use.

Illegal immigrants are paying taxes to Uncle Sam, experts agree. Just how much they pay is hard to determine because the federal government doesn't fully tally it. But the latest figures available indicate it will amount to billions of dollars in federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes this year. One rough estimate puts the amount of Social Security taxes alone at around $9 billion per year.

The Social Security Administration estimates that about three-quarters of illegal workers pay taxes that contribute to the overall solvency of Social Security and Medicare.

Leading this charge is the Heritage Foundation's Robert Rector, who argues in a new study that "the average lifetime costs to the taxpayer will be $1.1 million" for each low-skilled immigrant household. Hispanic immigrants and their families are a net national drain, he says, because they "assimilate into welfare."

Mr. Rector and Heritage have done some good social science research in the past, but this time they have the story backward: In most cases immigrants will pay at least as much in lifetime federal taxes as they receive in benefits.

One basic flaw in the Heritage analysis is that, as a study by the Immigration Policy Center points out: "The vast majority of immigrants are not eligible to receive any of these [welfare] benefits for many years after their arrival in the United States. . . . Legal permanent residents cannot receive SSI [Supplemental Security Income], which is available only to U.S. citizens, and are not eligible for means-tested public benefits until 5 years after receiving their green cards."

Illegal immigrants are also ineligible for any kind of federal welfare benefits -- with the exception of emergency health care. Many of the Congressional proposals to legalize this population would not allow these workers to collect welfare until waiting up to eight years for a green card and five years after that.

I am sick of the illegal taxes propoganda.  Illegals pay billions, I believe was quoted twice on this question.  Illegals, as a majority, are paid under the table.  They send over 60% of what they make out of our country and back to their families.  Get your facts straight and quit sympathizing with criminals.  It should be considered aiding and abedding in my opinion.  Kill em all, because they don't care about any other punishment.

I see the report is about immigrants period. Not illegals but IMMIGRANTS. I suppose we could keep all IMMIGRANTS from here but the fact is most IMMIGRANTS do contribute to the tax base with little benefit from it. IMMIGRANTS have made significant contributions to our national funds and resources. The ' American ' taxpayer isn't the only one footing the bill for our many programs.

We (American taxpayers" will benefit from the productivity of immigrants--as soon as we have reforms that give them legal status. Bigots like the one you quoted carefully leave out some key facts:

In fact, if those were the facts, this member would have brought a link that supports his position.  But in fact, the Mexican Government is saying that, and saying that without a shred of evidence.. nothing.

Further, if this member knows of active tax fraud I would remind him it is a felony offense to NOT report that employer to the IRS.  I would point out the employers also know of this and avoid doing anything like defraud for collected tax collections.  In addition to all of that, almost any accounting firm in the country would be on the horn to the IRS immediately if those checks were not sent on the spot.

In 2003, according to the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles, 57,600 cars were stolen in Phoenix. It is now the car-jacking capital of the world. Most were SUV’s and pickup trucks. At a conservative average of $15,000.00 per vehicle, owner losses exceeded $864 million. Insurance companies in the state suffered incredible claims from policyholders.

Worse, how would you like to walk out of your home or business to see your car gone? Imagine the hassle, violation of your hard work and disrespect for your well being.

Where did those vehicles go? Who stole them? Take a guess. Arizona is the temporary home of 500,000 illegal aliens. They cost Arizona taxpayers over $1 billion annually in services for schools, medical care, welfare anchor babies, loss of tax base and prisons. Illegals use those vehicles for smuggling more people and drugs from around the world into our country. When the vehicles are recovered, they are smashed-up wrecks in the desert. If not found, they have new owners south of the border as thieves drive the cars through the desert and into Mexico as easily as you drive your kids to soccer practice. THAT’s how porous our borders are!

Historically, we've seen this same bigoted propaganda directed against every immigrant group. But the facts say otherwise. Immigrants come here, do jobs that Americans don't want, and help build the economy by providig a source of low-cost labor.  As they assimilate, learn English, and gain job skills, they move up the ladder antd the contribution they make increases.

Now--those are the facts. And all the bigots and their lies don't change the facts.
