What happens to the blood that mosquitos suck?

I've always wondered what happens to the blood that mosquitos suck from us. Do they disappear or what happens to them after it's inside the mosquitos?

They use it as a source of protein (and only the females suck blood)

They have to digest the blood just like we do our food.  If you've ever hit a mosquito with a car or squished one after they've eaten it makes a pretty nasty mess!
