  1. it doesn't take long, if the kittens died young it is more uncomfortable but if they weaned gradually and were not feeding so often, like at 8 or 12 weeks as is common for the kittens to go to new homes, then it just dries up- same as in us humans. I imagine it is a little uncomfortable for a couple of days but if left alone it is just reabsorbed uneventfully...try not to pick her up in the day or two after the kittens go as it will be quite tender i should imagine...ouch!

  2. The milk will be removed from her mammary glands by her body and be reabsorbed. It should take about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to be reabsorbed. If she acts as if she is in pain you can wrap some ice packs in a towel as this can speed it up and ease her pain. Also, try not to touch her stomach too much or stimulate her nipples in any way as this will cause her to produce more milk. Take this opportunity to schedule an appointment with your veterinarian to get her spayed when her milk dries up. She will go back into heat soon and will be pregnant again which is hard on her. Hope this helped you...it sounds like you're taking good care your baby.

  3. if you have her spayed (which I hope you plan on) this will speed up the drying up process

  4. as soon as kittens are weaned of  mom she stops producing milk

  5. It dries up unless you get out a little milking stool and milk bucket and her like a cow. :o)

  6. The milk will either dry up, or the momma kitty will clean it up. It will last as long as her babies need it.

  7. The milk will just dry up.

  8. The milk will eventually dry up.
