Why?

What about if the car has no window and the passenger has no seatblelt?

  1. it has to do with centripetal force. the person does not move but the persons position relative to the car does. so if you imagine the car traveling in a straight line the person has a velocity straight ahead, but when the car turns the person still has a velocity straight ahead but now the car has changed direction.

so therefore in your example to person would lean to the outside of the corner (to the right) because the car has turned left around the corner. not having a seat belt and a window would not change this.

  2. the passenger would lean a bit to the left to preserve inertia

    newton first law

  3. The passenger attempts to move in a straight line, but is pulled left along with the car because of his seatbelt, friction on the seat, and gravity.  He would interpret this as a feeling of being pushed to the right against the door.

All objects move in a straight line unless effected by an outside force.  In this case, turning the wheels to the left pulls the car to the left, which then pulls the body of the passenger.

  4. The passenger would fly to the road due to centrifugal force in circular motion

  5. When a car takes a left turn, it is no more an inertial frame. All the passengers setting in the car experience a psuedo force or inertial force to the right. The magnitude of this force depends on the magnitude of centripetal acceleration. If the acceleration is not too large the seatbelt  and the friction between the body of the passenger and the seat help to keep the passenger in its position. In the absence of car window and seatbelt, for even a bit high acceleration the passenger will be thrown out of the car.
