My friend says that the beef gets sent to a facility where its then thoroughly cooked to a temp that can kill anything, ground up even more and then the meat is legal again to be sold to companies that use it to make canned raviolis, spaghetti sauce, beefamac etc. is this true? I eat raviolis every day (well i slowed down some after hearing this!!)

  1. They feed it to the dungeon elves.

  2. NO, that would be going against the FDA. It is disposed of. Not quite sure where or anything like that, but it is gotten rid of.

  3. Depends on what beef is recalled. Is it contaminated with E.Coli, Salmonella or Listeria monocytogenes?  A lethality tempeture which kills anything would be 165 degrees F.  You can kill off just about anything with that except Lm.

Trust me, you don't have to stop eating meat for this reason.  There are inspectors on the line every single day inspecting our meat.  If recalled beef was sent back and okayed by the insp. then it's under federal regulation.

Update: Well now I'm convinced your friend is pulling this out of his ***.  The FDA does not regulate beef. USDA does.

  4. Dog food companies, dog are emune to all that stuff

  5. It is SUPPOSED to be destroyed.
