What happens to the shucks and core of CORN??

  5. Today, it's not that useful as it was in the pioneer days. Advancement into the modern world left the many uses behind.

    To name a few; Tamale wrappers

                           chairseats

                           Hay/straw

                           feed

                           bird houses/squirl houses

                           pipes

    But one of my favorites; Corncob Jelly... yummmy!!!


  6. Believe it or not the cob has more industrial uses than the kernals.

    The husks are dried and burned as part of the fuel.  In some cases, the nice inner husks are saved for Mexican food wraps.

  7. A little bit of it gets put into landfills, but most of it is made into compost and cattle feed after it has been ground up.

  8. I know they make some small animal & reptile bedding from some of it.
