What happens to the stock of amd if i bought 50 million dollars worth at the market?

  1. it would probably only go up about 30 cents becuase it is such a large company  


  2. Alex is wrong. You will lose most of your money, just like that. Use a limit order, and it will probably take days to fill.

  3. That's about a third of average daily volume in the stock so  you won't be able to buy that many shares at market as the book is just not deep enough (i.e. not enough liquidity).

    On a side note, no one in their right mind would try to do this.

    What exactly am I wrong about?

    50mil is about a 3rd of average daily volume, that's a fact (if you don't believe me, look it up yourself).

    There's no way any book is $50mil (almost 9 mil shares) deep.

    So again, what is it that I'm wrong about?
