Question:

What happens to unclaimed pizzas?

I ordered a pizza online from Dominos that I had to pickup from the store. The pizza tracker said that it had been made but I forgot about it and never picked it up. I only remembered a few days later but this question is for anyone that works at such a pizza place, what happens to unclaimed pizzas, do the staff have them or what?

  1. my boss use to give them to me. it was awesome in HS and come home with 2 to 3 pizzas a night although my parents thought we didnt need 2 pizzas everynight but i enjoyed it in HS great light nite snack

  2. well since you can only have food sit out for so long, like for example, a little Caesars hot and ready pizza can only sit out for 45 min.  after that we either eat them or toss them.  We can not give them away, specifically for health reasons.

  3. We used to call the police dept. and give the unclaimed pizzas to them.

  4. We either eat them, or throw them away.  Whenever I was working, and some kids would come up asking for free food, as long as it's not really old and gross, I would give it to them.

  5. they usually have three choises.

    1. they throw it away

    2. they give it to the staff to eat

    3. they keep it and give it to another customer that ordered that kind of pizza

  6. First they wait and see if anyone comes by in the near future and orders the same kind of pizza. If someone does in a reasonable amount of time and the pizza is still good and hot, then they give it to that person. But, if no one does, they offer it to any of the staff members to take home and eat it with their family. If they don't want the pizza either, which usually they do want it, then, they have to throw it away. Hope I helped! Bye!

  7. We would eat them at work, or someone that was done with their shift would take it home.

  8. Technically, it depends on what your county health department regulations are.  There are certain time restraints, maintained temperatures, etc..  You would have to contact them (food division), or look at their website.  Their food regulations should be listed and are certainly available to the public.

Where I live, the pizzas have to be thrown away.  Which is a shame, I know, yet prevents any kind of health hazard.

  9. Some of it goes with all the rest of the leftover foods- to the dump, junkyard, etc... And slop for the pigs. (Poor them!)

  10. I was told that unclaimed pizzas get thrown away after several attempts to call the person who ordered the pizza.

  11. depend who's hungry otherwise it get thrown away
