If you are sentenced to go to jail, how long will it be? and those that are sentenced to go to jail, do they get their properties taken away? I also heard from some people that nothing happens to you sometimes when you are charge with assault or battery because they release you most of the time.

  1. Sentencing guidlines vary widely by geographical location and may range from fines of $200 or so and no jail time to fines of upwards of $1,000 and some months in jail.

As a first time offender you will probably be at the lower end of the scale. Good luck!

  2. It depends completley on your state law. Each state has its own minimum and maximum sentencing guidelines that they follow.  The sentence they give you will depend upon certain specifics of the crime and your prior record.  Always get a lawyer and have them present when talking to the police.
