What happens to your cars a/c if the a/c clutch relay goes bad?

  1. The AC compressor won't spin, and you won't get cold air. The fan will still work, but it will be the same as if you moved the selector to "vent.'


  2. the  a/c clutch wont engage if this happens to it ,it wont do anything at all,good luck.

  3. Depends on what state it goes bad in ...

    If it sticks open, nothing bad will happen to your car, but the A/C clutch will not engage, so no freon will be pumped through the system and NO COOLING will be achieved.

    If it sticks closed the compressor will run constantly anytime the engine is running.  The system will not be able to cycle on and off like it is should.

    Neither condition is repairable without replacing the A/C Clutch Relay.
