Question:

What happens to your eyes when you sleep? do they just roll downwards behind the lids?

because that would explain why one hurts when i wake up from sleeping on that side sometimes

  3. It depends on the fase of the sleep.

    One fase of the sleep is called "rapid eye movement", or REM sleep. In this fase your eyes move all directions in a very fast pace.

    One of the other fases is "deep sleep", in which it is possible for your eyes to be relaxed. Depending whether you have a dream or nightmare it can be possible that you are moving your eyes again.

    Me personally I dream often with my eyes open, so that's another possibility.
