What happens when a beach is not presentto absorb the wave energy along a coast,say at a headland?

  1. The energy is absorbed by the headland and erosion happens on the headland. Therefore breaking it down and eventually (over millions of years) forms a new beach.

    Or refraction, and the waves are redirected back to the ocean where the unused energy is redistributed back into the ocean.
