What happens when a dog eats chocolate?

I want to know if this will cause a alergic reaction?

If you dog eat human chocolate he would become very ill.  The chocolate would clog up his liver and he may die as a result of this.  You would not notice any thing straight away only days or weeks later.  If your dog has consumed human chocolate take him to the vets asap.  However you can buy special dog chocolate drops from the pet shops which is safe for dogs to eat.

little maybe nothin ... if u feed them alot ... they can get sick .. lack of eating .. alot of weight loss ... please dont feed ur dog chocolate

Our chocolate is poison to dogs - its has an ingredient that causes a dogs heart to slow down and eventually fail, it also attacks their organs and nervous system causing an incredibly slow and painful death! Never, ever give a dog chocolate nor should it have raisins, they have the same effect!

every dog i've ever had (at least 15 of them) has eaten chocolate.  

nothing has ever happened to any of them.  

i understand it can be very deadly to some breeds.  as well as raisins, grapes, onions.
