As it does this, the wind circulation around the anti-cyclone will turn the hurricane, directing it on a course around the periphery of the anti-cyclone.  Typically the hurricane will eventually encounter a weakness near the edge of the anticyclone and move toward and through that weakness.  Determining when and where these weaknesses will occur is one of the big dilemmas in hurricane track forecasting.
