i live in ohio and I'm 16. yesterday i got caught stealing $110 worth of clothes. i haven't gotten into trouble before and I'm generally a good kid. But apparently its a felony and I could possibly get my license taken away. Is this true?

and, also, if they have no proof, no video tape of you stealing, and you're already out the door can they stop you and ask to look in your bag?

  1. Yep, as long as you're in their parking lot which is private property, they can search whatever you have as long as they have reasonable suspicion you stole something. Yeah... You're gonna lose your license, probably go to jail if the judge so decides. But since you have a clean record, you'll probably just get community service. Anything over $60 worth of stuff in the united states is considered grand larceny and is a Class A felony in most states. Just be ready for whatever repercussions come because if the judge is having a bad day, so will you.

    Best of luck

  2. Um, if its your first offense pretty much the worst that's going to happen is your parents will yell at you, you'll maybe get probation and some community service. On private property yr always subject to searches. And no, they can't take your license away for stealing. Cops are lying.

  3. You go to juvenile court and you will probably receive probation and community service. You get to keep your license.
