  1. it gets reflected, on a black surface, it gets absorbed!!!!!


  2. It will depend on the frequency or frequencies of the light "ray".  Some photons pass through, some get absorbed and their energy is re-emmited.  

    The reason you see white is because the material is emitting an equal number of photons accross the range of around 380 to 770 trillion hertz.

  3. Ideally the light ray should be reflected entirely. But no object is Ideal White Object, so a part of the light will always be absorbed by the surface. This energy (absorbed light) will be converted to heat energy and the surface will get heated up.

  4. White is a color that has the property of reflecting all of the colors

    of visible light.(the visible spectrum).

    if light were to strike a different color,say green, the green wavelength

    of light would be reflected,while the red and blue,would be absorbed,

    and converted to heat.
