  1. you'll need photo identification from both parties to get a marriage certificate, although... I don't know if an illegal immigrant could do that unless they had certified identification from their home country.

The immigrant is automatically granted citizenship, (can change name/get new id) but as previously stated especially in the united states they'll watch you for a while, making sure you live together and you aren't just selling yourself to foreigners

  2. Yes the illeagal immigrant gets citizenship but you are also checked on to make sure its not fake so you have to stay together and all that stuff, not sure if it is always but they do check in on you.

That all i know from just being alive no research or anything.

  3. automatic citizenship. no personal experience though, besides living in texas where it happens all the time.

  4. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE TOP FEW ANSWERS!....  Juandeon is right. The person who is the illegal immigrant has to go back to their country and apply for LEGAL entry into the country. Just because there is a marriage doesn't mean automatic citizenship. I came to this country in 1983, married an American citizen, but that did not give me citizenship. I still had to go through the proper immigration channels for that to happen.

  5. If your question is about American immigration, the other answers are feeding you a line of bull. Marriage does not automatically get you a residency or a citizenship. If you are in the country illegally and get caught, you get deported. That action will delay any visa you would like to have for at least 10 years.

You can get married in either country. But the fact of the matter is: you will have to go back to your home country to make the paperwork.
