  1. a large amount of current passes thro the person which causes death.

  2. can u help me in my assignment im only 2nd Year...Enumerate the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipments in metal works...what are the safety precusions to be observe when you are in a metal work

  3. A current transformer has a primary side with very few (sometimes only one) windings of very thick wire (high current), and a secondary side with lots of windings of thin wire (measurable voltage at low current).

Both windings are supposed to be insulated from each other.

    So no death.....and all that.....

And electrically, nothing will happen if the secondary is open.

  4. If current flows in the primary with the secondary open circuit, a large voltage will be produced on the secondary most likely causing it to burn up. The condition is very dangerous and should be avoided.

There are stories of large CT's exploding and causing death in extreme cases but I don't know how true any of them are.

  5. If you open the secondary of a loaded CT, the secondary tries to develop enough voltage to push the secondary current.  Since the secondary is "open" or has infinite resistance the secondary voltage increases to the maximum.   Depending on the CT type, ratio, primary current level, etc it is possible to get 3000V or more across the open secondary terminals.  They will come apart due to the excessive voltage level is outside the dielectric strength of the CT but as someone has stated this is rare.  You can get a rather nasty shock.  Open CT's aren't hard to find, they make an un-Godly amount of noise.
