What happens when i get a speeding ticket?

About 3 hours ago i got a speeding ticket for going "115km " (what it says on the ticket i'm reading right now) in a 100km zone. Is this a minimal offense? Do i have a criminal record? will my Canadian insurance skyrocket?

I am very very concerned because If i have a criminal record then i cant go to Japan next summer so I'm in a huge panic and i don't know what to do =(. I read that if its 15km/hr or under i don't get demerits attached which is a good thing i admit but that at the moment is the least of my concerns.

  1. It may go on your record, but I don't know if that would be considered a criminal offense.  If you plan to go to court to try to beat the ticket, look for the tips on the blog spot.
