What happens when i open a bank account in peoples bank?

i want to open an account to n buy stuff online. so i was wondering do you get the card right away or do you have to wait for it in the mail

Yes, usually if you open an account, you have to wait for the 'card' to arrive in the mail. Some bank do issue them over the counter as well, so you should ask the bank if you need to wait.

Whenever you apply for a card, it needs to be produced and then posted to you. Once you receive it you will need to have it activated before it may be used.

If you want to buy online, why not just open an account with Pay Pal and use your current bank account? Or, is it  that you are applying to the Peoples Bank for a credit card and you wish to use their money to buy things on the internet.? I which case, why not apply to your own bank for a credit card?
