What happens when male cats see their offspring?

Question

Because I've been hearing instances where the father cat takes care of the offspring because of the mother's absence. But I believe it's rare though.

A male cat will kill kittens.

it depends mostly on the temperament of the male. your right it is rare.  i have seen males try and kill their offspring and then there are cats like my 6 males that actually adopted the kitten that we just brought home.  i am not sure, but maybe it is because he doesnt belong to any of them.

When my cats had kittens the father was just like "hmm.... where did all these kittens come from?"

our two males have always been good with babies, cleaning and careing for them and when they were almost ready to go to thier new homes they would play with the kittens
