Life goes on the same way as usual. Everybody is still responsible for their own failure or successes in life. Newspapers and 24-hour news channels make up stuff to get ratings, and he loses his second term to a NeoCon upstart.

No more slick politics.  Much more honest leadership.

Maybe a degree of diplomatic relations with other countries can be restored.  Much damage has been done.

He moves into the White House , and presides over the government .

Most likely he will go too work with all great intentions of keeping his promises and trying to bring about the change he would like. However, the President does not command the power to do all things. In most cases he needs the support of congress. Hopefully Senators and Congressmen will fall in behind our next president (Whomever it is) and work for all America rather than their parties and we will see greatness return. Elected officials are expected to represent all America, not just their party; they are expected to seek the best alternatives, not just those their party subscribes too. As long as the two parties put their party interest ahead of our national interest though we will go nowhere and our president will be just another tax paid bum.

The budget will eventually be balanced again (like it was when Clinton left office).  We'll leave Iraq at some point.  Something will get done about our health care crisis.  Much needed social services will reappear and improve.

First Term will be spent trying to get the US Economy back in focus. I say the whole term, because two Bush's and a Clinton have trashed it.

We have made commitments overseas, so we need to live with them and reduce our need to play world policeman out of our pockets.  Thank less job isn't?

It will take more than just ABM to straighten out the mess congress and Bush has made. Clinton and McCain have been a part of the Washington cartoons too long. The experience they claim is shared with those who have been senators and congressmen for the past 15 +/- years that have all but destroyed America. Obama has spent enough time there to have seen how ineffective in-house fighting is and he can bring the various segments of government together and get America back on track.
