  1. if you keep light on them during the night...it will not flower.

    you can actually control short day plants growth, if you want it to bloom in the summer...give it some sun light for a couple of hours then put it in a dark place (such as a closet) around the time when the sun sets in the fall (about five) and the plant will begin to think it IS fall and will begin to bloom.

    and if you keep like on it at night in the fall the plant will think it is still summer.
