Question:

What happens when something's missing?

A piece appears to be missing

that renders my puzzle undone

an important ingredient lacking

as I wait for the rising sun

once perfect set now broken

one item which cannot be found

like toting that proverbial bucket

with hole all seeps to the ground

I spin around in desperate search

reaching for what I do not know

that single thing to hold like glue

and stop my essence its flow.

  1. He had 99 & was missing one.

They were left to find that missing.

    Because all was worthless without

    the missing one.

Knowing this in advance makes me love

all my ones I have every day.

    Peace,

  2. You plug it with love, ma,,with lots of love,,

  4. I love your poem.  It reminds me of the style that I write in.  Just more advanced.

  5. Very good Ma. Well i go nuts till i find it. Like yesterday was searching for a missing mouse(PC mouse) and i finally found. If it had been a snake i would of gotten bitten.

Words which might have been taken right out of my mouth Ma. Been spinning so long I don't even get dizzy any more.. either that or I'm so dizzy topsy turvey appears normal.

    Nicely written Ma.

  7. I feel that way about my missing pot lid. Ma, it's my favorite pot and my kids lost the lid. I have to go to Miami to get another on like it. I just don't want to do it. I hate leaving the country.....

  8. Can't find that coffee cup, ma? Or did someone break it? I can lend you one of my old mugs until you get another one.

  9. A Piece of me was missing too.

    I searched without a clue,

    Then to my amazement,

    I found it,

    yes it's true.

The part that I was Lacking

    was very plain to see.

    Not a Piece of anything,

    Just the real me!

  10. Our lives can be as simple as a 20-piece puzzle, or as complex as a 5,000-piece puzzle. Most of us only manage to fit a few pieces together here and there, and after awhile form whole sections together in a few places. But one never really sees the whole picture until the entire puzzle is completed.

A few song lyrics come to mind:

    I've looked under chairs

    I've looked under tables

I've tried to find the key

    To fifty million fables

    They call me the seeker

I've been searching low and high

I wont get to get what Im after

    Till the day I die

  11. These lives of ours flow no matter what we do, and your flow, Ma enriches all of us who read your works.  Thanks.

  13. It is time that flows and we cannot capture it or hold it back.

Thanks for the poem, it was thought provoking and beautifully worded.

  14. hmmm....what is it?

  15. beautiful poem ma.

depending on what it is that's missing, i will either feel a deep sadness or i will replace it.

let me know if you ever find that substance that holds like glue.  i could use some before all my essence seeps out.

  16. Wow! Ma, What great words. Take care. Love ya Lots. (((Hugs)))

  17. i had a dog i rescued one time that barked at me to let me know that i had dropped a sock while i was taking the clothes off the line. i miss that dog. love the poem

  18. I perfectly lost my words !!

  19. One feels it as something which has been gouged from inside. Its' centre; the solar plexus stretching as a void around.

An Emptiness that one imagines a hand will involuntarily reach into

to grasp what seems a missing heart.

You feel lighter, as if before a fainting spell,

And do not trouble to look around for any arms that will receive you.

It is a kind of wish for the relief of death.

It is a kind of wanting eternal sleep - because a grounding weight

which once was there, has been stolen away, while you'd not noticed!
